Kenneth C Lund

Ken was born Oct 6,1976 and lived in various regions of Maine including the Portland area, Aroostook County and Mount Desert Island. After obtaining a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 1999, Ken spent the next 10 years living in the Monterey Bay area of California.

Much of Ken's inspiration for art came from the serene landscapes of his upbringing. He also drew from artists such as Rothko, Hoffman, Cezanne, Richter, Kandinsky and of course his painting professor Anderson Giles.

In the early 2000's, Lund understudied with the event painter, Greg Kalamar. Kalamar (out of Seattle, Wa) introduced the concept of event painting, a new movement to the corporate, music and wedding event scenes. Soon after, Lund began capturing live events all across the California coast and its prestigious Napa Valley region.

Fine Art

Although abstract in form, the majority of Lund's work is based on the landscapes for which he has traveled. With oil, his medium of choice, Ken's focus is to express subjects by encompassing the feeling or timely state rather than its absolute form or details. His technique of heavy application and attention to light and color relationships are meant to draw the viewers intrigue and challenge their rationalization of reality.
